Police are urgently appealing for witnesses to a road traffic collision in Hammersmith in which a cyclist died.

At approximately 9.15pm on Tuesday 3/10/06 they were called to Talgarth Rd at the junction with Gliddon Rd, W6, (the A4 westbound) to reports of a pedal cycle in collision with a Smart car.

The cyclist, a woman in her twenties, was pronounced dead at the scene by London Ambulance Service. Enquiries are underway to identify the deceased and contact next of kin.

The car stopped at the scene but no arrests have been made. The A4 was closed westbound between Warwick Road and Hammersmith.
