The local Conservative Party has announced the prospective parliamentary candidate who will stand against Labour's Ann Keen at the next election.  Mary Macleod has been appointed as the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Brentford and Isleworth Constituency. 

She said, "There is a lot of work to be done locally, but with an excellent Conservative team here, I am determined to win this seat at the next General Election. This will enable us to make a real difference to people across the Constituency, no matter who they are or where they come from, by creating a strong society where people have the hope, aspiration and opportunities to be the best they can be."

Mary was born in Battersea but raised in the Highlands of Scotland. She has an MA (Hons) in Literature and Management and runs her own consulting firm in the city of London. Mary has also served as Policy Advisor to The Queen and the Royal Family in The Queen’s Private Office at Buckingham Palace.

Her political career includes being the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate in the 1997 General Election, in Ross, Skye and Inverness West, against Charles Kennedy. She has been involved in a range of policy areas including Education, Health and the Constitution and has worked with several Shadow Cabinet members. She is also Chairman of the Conservative Candidates' Association.
