2007 saw the end of an era as local newspaper Brentford Chiswick and Isleworth Times not only dropped two of the three names from its title but became a tabloid.

The final issue also marked the demise of the old broadsheet format which dated back 135 years.

The newly titled Hounslow and Brentford Times, published in colour tabloid format, was the result of months of planning led by Editor Eddie Barr who was charged with bringing the newspapers into the 21st century.

The Newsquest series, which includes Richmond and Twickenham Times, has struggled to maintain sales figures in recent years. According to industry figures all the titles in the series have a combined average weekly circulation figure of 11,073 down 17.3% year on year.
